Fitness freaks are praising a workout that's more intense but less time consuming. By Lena Watts
Daily doses of adrenaline aside, local fitness experts say they can get results comparable to the time-consuming daily cardio and weight training with a new kind of workout that requires only two gym visits a week.
The secret, according to DeeDee Antonelli, president of FutureShapes in Newton Highlands, as a system of exercises that make you work more than one muscle with every epetition for a more efficient workout. chest press." Since half the battle of any training program is sticking with it, Future Shapes resembles a playground for grownups with balance balls, rubber bands, wobble boards, and jump ropes. "We want you to play again and do things you did as a kid," Antonelli says. "There are a million ways to do a squat. We make it fun." …

Winchester St. According to proprietor Dierdre Antonelli, the facility offers individual exercise programs for all comers, from persons in their seventies to highly toned athletes.
"Our philosophy is to train muscles with movement," said owner Antonelli. "Open space is needed so that we can train each athlete as if they are athletes."
She explained, "We try to train the whole body and its core strengths, from abdominal muscle groups to lower back to the gluteus muscles."
Antonelli explained a typical fitness training approach: "First we sit for one hour with a new client and review their health history. We try to spell out their personal goals, to understand what they have done in the past and possibly why it failed." Antonelli said.
She continued, "We test their cardio-vascular fitness, their strength and endurance, balance and flexibility. Then we choose the trainer that best matches the personality of the client." … |
