DEEDEE ANTONELLI

As Founder & President of Future Shapes for the past 20 years Deirdre “Dee Dee” Antonelli has dedicated herself to providing exceptional, individualized service and innovative training to each of her clients, whom she considers part of her extended “fitness family.” She has brought together highly skilled, experienced, and dynamic

trainers enabling her hundreds of Future Shapes clients to achieve their individual health and fitness goals. A sought after expert and in the fitness arena, DeeDee has been featured in both Boston Magazine and Newton Magazine. She is also a featured personal trainer on “The Learning Channel’s (TLC) new weekly television show “The Proposal.” She brings her years of experience and education in exercise science and personal fitness training, continually adding to the depth of training and services offered at Future Shapes. Most of all, DeeDee takes great pride in the long term relationships she has developed throughout the fitness industry as well as with each one of her clients. She holds certifications by the American College of Sports Medicine and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.

TONI PICARIELLO

Toni has been working as a sports medicine and fitness consultant for over 12 years, and joined the Future Shapes training staff 4 years ago. For the past 8 years Toni has served as the head Athletic Trainer at the Winsor School, training and rehabilitating young athletes for all of Winsor’s sports programs. Prior to this, she worked extensively for 10

years with professional and recreational athletes with the Sports Conditioning Center in Brookline, and earned a stellar reputation with physicians and rehabilitation specialists. Toni holds a degree from Northeastern University's Athletic Training program and played on their Division I women’s ice hockey team, winning several conferences as well as a NCAA championship. Her competitive drive and love for athletics launched her into a career in sports medicine and rehabilitation. She specializes in sports training and orthopedic injuries.

CALVIN MARSHALL

Calvin joined Future Shapes after having worked as an licensed exercise physiologist with private clients. He graduated from Umass-Lowell with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Clinical Lab Sciences. In addition, he also holds a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Lasell College. Calvin is currently enrolled at Umass-Lowell in the Doctor of

Physical Therapy program. He also holds certification as a personal trainer by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His training in exercise physiology and experience in physical therapy gives him the opportunity to provide comprehensive fitness conditioning while maintaining a focus on injury prevention. Calvin frequently lectures on exercise preparation for hiking, high-altitude climbs, and other outdoor adventure sports and still has time to enjoy participating in a multitude of sports and spending time outdoors.

EMILY SAUMURE SAVARD

Emily joins the training staff at Future Shapes after having served as the General Manager and head of exercise training at ShapeXpress and the Assistant General Manager of Healthworks in Back Bay. Prior to this Emily owned a gym for 3 years with a focus on developing customized and individually tailored workouts to meet fitness goals. Emily holds a B.S.

in Exercise, Sports Science, and Athletic Training from the University of Florida, and worked towards an M.S. in Leisure Service management from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She also hold a massage degree from the Suncoast School of Massage. Emily holds the following licenses and certificates: C.S.C.S., C.P.R., First Aid, A.E.D., AFAA Personal Trainer, and MedX Cervical and Lumber Spine and Rehabilitation Program.

DARLENE MOORE, L.A.T.C., C.S.C.S

Darlene has worked at Future Shapes for the past 5 years and as a Physical Education teacher and certified Athletic Trainer at the professional, collegiate, and high school level since 1986. Darlene has a passion for helping people, and specializes in therapeutic strengthening, circuit training, basic pilates, sports yoga boxing

conditioning, and physical education. Darlene headed the athletic training program for The Cambridge School of Weston from 2003 to 2005, and prior to that been Head Trainer for Simmons College from 1993 to 2003, she was a faculty member at Lawrence Academy and Milton Academy teaching middle and high school physical education, and served as an athletic trainer for tennis professionals on tour with the USTA. Darlene holds a B.S. in Physical Education and Athletic Training from Northeastern University, as well as a M.A. in Gender and Cultural Studies from Simmons College. She holds certifications from the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association, MA Teachers Association, and the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR, and A.E.D. During her free time, Darlene enjoys outdoor recreational adventures, gardening, painting, reading, and playing with her dog Sydney.

BRAD SULLIVAN

Brad has worked as an experienced personal trainer for the past 11 years, and has been a senior trainer with Future Shapes for the past 5 years. Working with a diverse clientele, Brad particularly loves structuring innovative and challenging workouts. From 2001 to 2003, Brad managed the Spine Center at Dedham Health and

Athletic Complex and served as an exercise therapist with the New England Baptist Hospital Spine Center from 1993 to 2003 where he specialized in low back and neck disorders and traumas. Prior to this, Brad served as the assistant freshman basketball and varsity golf coach for 3 years at Bellingham High as well as an assistant golf professional at New England Country Club for four seasons. He holds a second-degree black belt and the rank of "Needan" in the martial arts practice of Uechi-Ryu. Brad holds a B.S. in exercise physiology from University of Massachusetts-Amherst. In his spare time, Brad chases after Alexandra, 3, and Alyssa, 9 months.

ANTHONY DOW

Anthony (“Tony”) heralds from New Zealand and joins the training staff at Futures Shapes specializing in sports specific training, core stability, and functional training. Tony has extensive experience with Outdoor Adventure Programs and youth training. He currently oversees training on the Indoor Rock Wall and the Adventure Program

and Ropes Course at the JCC in Newton.A rugby player and enthusiast since age 5, Tony currently plays for the Boston Irish Wolfhounds. He is an avid road cyclist, riding over 5,000 miles each year. Tony holds an International Bachelors of Sports and Coaching, as well as the following certifications: First Aid, C.P.R., A.E.D., and L.G.T.

NINA CAMMARATA

Nina has been with Future Shapes for the past 5 years and through her “love of training and working with people” coupled with her powerful motivational skills, she has developed a strong and dedicated following. Her area’s of expertise are; developing running programs for recreational and competitive runners, circuit training and

teaching functional training regimes compatible with individual lifestyles. Nina’s wide range of knowledge and experience in strength training, stress management and competitive marathon running combined with her certifications in athletic yoga and kick-boxing, enable her to assist her clients in setting attainable goals and accomplishing fitness success. Nina attended Northeastern University and holds the following certifications: AFFA, First Aid, C.P.R., and A.E.D. She is mom to David, age 2 as well as a competitive marathon runner who just completed her 6th Boston marathon.

JILL LAVKA

Jill has been a trainer and nutritionist with Future Shapes for the past 6 years. Prior to this, she has worked for a decade as a trainer in private based studios and with her network of private clients who range from young to old! Jill loves working with clients to combine nutrition and exercise to enhance their lifestyles. An athlete all her life, Jill

graduated from the University of Maine in 1990, where she competed on the tennis and swim teams. Jill holds the following certifications: C.P.R., A.E.D., A.C.E. She is also a Nutritional Consultant, certified by Newton Wellesley Hospital. Her nutritional work includes helping clients understand food labels, hidden ingredients, and vitamin supplements. Jill has also been certified to work with diabetics and special populations from the Dallas Cooper Institute for Fitness and Research. In her spare time, Jill runs and luxuriates in the never-ending energy of her daughter, age one.
